Bundles of fun

Sky's brilliant Bundles give you a world of fun for a great price, and this Black Friday there's 50% off every TV pack.

For example, there's a whopping 50% off the Mega Bundle, which gives you Sky Entertainment, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema, Sky Ultimate on Demand and Sky HD. That's a saving of £351 over an 18-month contract.

You can save a packet on other deals too. There's a saving of £288 on Sky Entertainment, Sky Sports, Sky Cinema and Sky HD; £189 off Sky Entertainment + Sky Sports + Sky HD; £144 off Sky Entertainment + Sky Sports; £180 off Sky Entertainment + Sky Cinema + Sky UoD + Sky HD; £72 off Sky Entertainment + Sky Cinema + Sky HD; and £27 off Sky Entertainment + Sky Cinema.

What do you get for your money? Everything!

For example, Sky Cinema gives you more than 1,000+ movies on demand, with dedicated kids', sci-fi and thriller channels showing the latest blockbusters months and in some cases years before they make it to the big-name streaming services. It's where you'll find a huge range of blockbusters from the action-packed Avengers series to the bombastic Bohemian Rhapsody as well as more cerebral and classic films too.

Sky Entertainment gives you more than 300 TV channels including brilliant box sets, lots of great channels for the kids and the envelope-pushing Sky Atlantic, home of quality drama.

That's where you'll find the magnificent and moody Watchmen, the chilling Chernobyl and gorgeous, gripping epics such as Catherine The Great. And with Sky Ultimate on Demand, which includes Netflix and costs just £6 per month, you can also tune into the biggest hits from streaming services including Olivia Coleman in The Crown and the long-awaited, nail-biting Breaking Bad sequel El Camino.

Sky Sports is rightly famous for its global sports coverage and its dedicated channels for football, cricket, golf, F1 and racing, as well as Sky Sports Action, Sky Sports Arena, Sky Sports News and Sky Sports Main Event.

Main Event shows the biggest live events from across the Sky Sports channels: if it's hitting the headlines, you can watch it live. Sky Sports brings you 126 Premier League games through the season, as well as exclusive interviews, gripping documentaries, behind-the-scenes looks and highlights for all you favourite sports.

The smart way to save even more on Black Friday

Sky's Superfast Fibre broadband is even more affordable this Black Friday. If you go for Sky Broadband Superfast with Broadband Boost plus free Talk Anytime that's down to £29 per month for 18 months, £9.95 one off setup cost, a saving of £234.

Broadband Boost is definitely worth having: it runs daily checks on your line to make sure everything's working perfectly, enables you to control your family's screen time with Sky's Broadband Buddy app and gives you Sky's Wi-Fi guarantee: Wi-Fi in every room of your home, or your money back.

You can still get a brilliant broadband deal even if superfast broadband isn't available in your area yet. Sky Broadband Essential and Broadband Boost with Free Talk Anytime is now just £25 per month over 18 months, £9.95 set up cost. Saving you a whopping £180.

You can save even more with Sky's superb Triple Play deals. By combining your broadband and your TV in a single bundle you're not just making life simpler; you're saving a lot of cash too.

And on Black Friday the savings are bigger than ever. The Superfast Triple Play brings you Sky Entertainment TV, and Broadband Superfast for just £39 per month, for 18 months, £29.95 set up costs while the Essential Triple Play brings you the same great TV and with Essential Broadband for just £35 per month, for 18 months, £29.95 set up costs.

Save money on the best TV tech

When you subscribe to Sky you're not just getting the best entertainment, news, kids and sports channels. You're also getting the best TV technology, such as the award-winning Sky Q set-top box.

It brings you all your Sky channels plus over 60 channels of catch-up TV, streaming services such as Netflix and YouTube, and the ability to pause and rewind live TV. It can record three programmes while you watch a fourth, can automatically record every episode of your favourite shows and ensure you don't miss one even if the schedules change, and you can even control it with your voice.

One of our favourite things about Sky is that you can also watch your favourite shows or tune into live sports when you're far from home. With the Sky Go app on your smartphone, tablet or computer you can catch up with Chernobyl on your commute, let the kids watch cartoons on the train or make sure you don't miss the Man United game when you're stuck in a meeting.

There's never been a better time to upgrade your entertainment, and with Sky's Black Friday deals you can bag a real bargain. Click here to find the best Sky Black Friday deal for you.

The future of Magic Leap's promising AR efforts dim after layoffs

The Magic Leap Two is now further away than ever, unfortunately. Today in a blog post the augmented reality pioneer announced major layoffs and has decided to cut up to half of its workforce, according to some reports. The original Magic Leap One was supposed to be one of the first mainstream augmented reality headsets when it launched in 2018, but a high price point and lack of interest from developers left the headset high and dry after launch. According to the blog post, Magic Leap says it will be focusing its efforts on enterprise solutions (a statement HTC has made recently as well) and shift its focus away from consumer technology… at least for the time being.  The company has been open about creating a second headset that would offer improved specs for some time, but how that work will now have to go forward without half of the team , according to some estimates, remains to be seen. Is the window closing on augmented reality?  Although it’s just one company, Magic...

Airship acquires SMS commerce company ReplyBuy

Airship is announcing that it has acquired mobile commerce startup ReplyBuy . The startup (which was a finalist at TechCrunch’s 1st and Future competition in 2016) works with customers like entertainment venues and professional and college sports teams to send messages and sell tickets to fans via SMS. It raised $4 million in funding from Sand Hill Angels, Kosinski Ventures, SEAG Ventures, Enspire Capital, MRTNZ Ventures and others, according to Crunchbase . Airship, meanwhile, has been expanding its platform beyond push notifications to cover customer communication across SMS, email, mobile wallets and more. But CEO Brett Caine said this is the first time the company is moving into commerce. While sports and concerts tickets might not be a booming market right now, Caine suggested that the company is actually seeing increased purchasing activity “in and around the Airship platform” as businesses try to drive more in-app purchases. He also suggested that both the COVID-19 pandem...
